Pizza Pack’s Pancake Pizza: Celebrating National Maple Syrup Day!

Pizza Pack’s Pancake Pizza: Celebrating National Maple Syrup Day!

December 17th marks National Maple Syrup Day, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate the liquid gold! Pancakes are a breakfast classic, and let's be honest, they're made even more irresistible with a generous drizzle of warm maple syrup. In fact, we believe that the syrup truly makes the pancake great. But why stick to the same old pancakes when you can transform them into a Pancake Pizza? This recipe is a delightful twist that's easy, quick, customizable, and can even be made in a healthier way. Let's dive in!

Ingredients:

  • Premade Pancake Mix
  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Maple Syrup
  • Almond Butter or Peanut Butter (your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease a round 14" x 1" dish (the depth can vary, but around 1" works well).
  3. Prepare the pancake batter according to the instructions on the Pancake Mix box.
  4. Pour the batter into the greased pan.
  5. Arrange sliced bananas and strawberries on top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the pancake is light golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven (you can add more fruit as a topping if desired!).
  8. Warm up your chosen almond butter or peanut butter in the microwave until smooth (approximately 30 seconds).
  9. Stir the nut butter and drizzle it over the pancake.
  10. Drizzle maple syrup over the top.
  11. Slice and savor!

Even though this Pancake Pizza is a departure from the traditional concept of pizza, you'll be glad to know that you can still store any leftovers in your trusty Pizza Pack! Simply warm them up in the microwave, and voila!

Additional Options:

Feel free to get creative with your toppings! The possibilities are endless. Some suggestions include various berries, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or even a strawberry drizzle instead of nut butter. For a sweet and savory combination, consider adding bacon as a topping. If you have picky eaters or simply want to offer a variety, try adding different toppings to different sections of the pizza, such as blueberries, chocolate chips, bacon, and more. The choice is yours!

Healthy Protein-Packed Version:

If you're looking for a healthier option, you can make this recipe with a protein-packed twist. Either make your own pancake mix at home or opt for a brand like Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes, which provides 14g of protein per serving. You can also use sugar-free maple syrup for a lower sugar alternative.

We hope you enjoy this Pancake Pizza recipe as a delicious way to celebrate National Maple Syrup Day. It's quick, easy, and perfect for getting the kids involved.
